Hello friends and family! I hope this week was good for everyone :)
This week was pretty good! I do not have a lot of time to write this so this email will be on the shorter side (note that I did not say ˝short˝ because that is just unrealistic haha).
Summary (Sorry I forgot this in my last email):
Went to a couple pretty locations with one of the people we are teaching. So pretty. We visited a couple members this week and that was really cool. On Sunday I sang in church! It was sort of scary but it went very well. We had the most people we have ever had in person at church on Sunday! We had 8 people (12 included the missionaries)!!!! So cool and an absolute miracle.
Monday 4/18:
Today was pretty chill. We had originally planned to have a couple things happen today but they all fell through. Today was a holiday and people here take holidays SERIOUS! We went to get groceries and everything was closed. Everything haha. There were only a few stores in all of Celje that were open. So that was interesting. We ended up going on a fun little walk alongside Celje river with Betty and her son. It was so fun and beautiful. We walked for over an hour to get to this one cute bridge over the river. On this walk we were able to give her a Book of Mormon and introduce it to her.
Tuesday 4/19:
We had another workshop today which was good. Since all of the stores were closed yesterday we went shopping today and then got McDonalds after. For those of you asking if McDonalds is better here, no it is still gross haha. Later in the afternoon we had our training session with Lyndie again. It went so well. At the end of the meeting she broke the news that this would be the last training session we would have with her. :( We will miss her so much!!! We had a lot of plans cancelled today because it was raining haha. The rain ruins everything here but it is all good.

Wednesday 4/20:
One of the members from Ljubljana came up to help Sestra Williams with her VISA application and stuff. We went to the government office here in Celje and spent forever working it out. It wasn't all that bad, just boring. Afterwards we met up with the Barrus' and got lunch. I ate a pesto pasta which wasn't all too bad. Our friend Betty picked us up and took us to a beautiful lake nearby called Šmartinsko Jezero. It was so beautiful.
Betty and us on the bridge :)
When we first got there we sat at a cute little cafe and got drinks. I got Pina Colada tea!! It was literally one of the best things I have ever had. It tasted heavenly AND it came in the cutest teapot so I could pour it myself. 10/10 experience.
Me with my tea :)
We walked to the other side of the lake and talked the entire time. It was so fun but we had to cut it short to get back for a meeting with another one of our friends. We went to a cafe and met up with our friend, Luigi! And it went so well. We asked him straight up if he believes the things we have taught him and he said YES! So good. He is doing so well!
Thursday 4/21:
We had district council today which was fun. There was one funny experience where we were having our meeting in the church building and out of nowhere a random guy walks into the church and says he is here for English class haha. We told him the actual time that it was and he said he would come back. After district council we went and ate at Wok N' Roll because it reopened!!!! I was so happy. I got that heavenly glass noodle and chicken dish. Best thing ever.
Wok N' Roll Chicken :D :D :D
We got ice cream afterwards, which was also heavenly. I got a really yummy cookie flavor.
Ice cream w/ the Barrus' and Maribor Elders :) so yummy
Later that night we had English class and that guy from earlier showed up too! We had him, Betty, and our other friend that usually comes as well. Sestra Williams taught him the alphabet while I talked to Betty and Metod. They taught me a whole bunch of new vocab like kavbojke (jeans), kavboj (cowboy), šunka (ham), and more.
Friday 4/22:
In the morning we went and cleaned the catholic school again. It was pouring and freezing outside. Later on we had a meeting with all of the missionaries in Slovenia and Bosnia to talk about our goals and whatnot. Right in the middle of it our landlord came in and was fixing stuff in the bathroom. We got in trouble because we didn't tell him about a leak in our bathroom haha. He and another guy were here for the rest of the meeting with the missionaries and then another meeting with the missionaries I was in the mtc with. Later on in the evening we went to one of our members' house and visited with them and their family. They are so cool. They are one of the foundational families in our branch because they are just so amazing and have such strong testimonies.
Dinner w/ our amazing member family <3
They haven't been able to come to church for a while though because the father broke his leg and he is the only one that drives in the family. It was so nice to have dinner with them though. We ate tacos and it was so yummy.
Saturday 4/23:
Sestra Williams and I decided to spice life up today by going to the library for our studies.
On our way to the library, there were so many people and booths out. Apparently today was a big health awareness event because there were booths with health tips, things to buy, activities for children, and decorations all about. While we were in the library we looked outside and there were children singing. Of course we had to drop everything we were doing to go listen to them haha. After finishing all of our studies we treated ourselves by going to Wok N' Roll again. Literally the best day ever. I got the same dish as always and as always it was absolute heaven. We also got dessert which was tapioca pearls with a mango puree and fresh mango slices on top. It was pretty good when mixed together. The fresh mango slices on the top were out of this world.
The mango dessert thing
We spent the afternoon with one of our friends and that was fun. We went to our house and she told us a bunch of gossip about her life. Later that evening we met up with a member at the church to practice a song for a musical number on Sunday! Ah! Sestra Williams and I will sing I Believe in Christ (in English because sadly they don't have a Slovene translation). That went pretty good! We attempted to do a soprano and alto part but that was too much work hahaha.
Sunday 4/24:
Sunday was bomb! We had SO many people at church. The most there have ever been since I arrived. We had 8 people in person (12 including the missionaries)! Sestra Williams and I had our musical number which went very well. She and I each had a solo part so woo! Go us! After church we went back home to do our studies. I ended up making some cookies. I made peanut butter and marshmallow cookies. They are actually way better than I thought they were going to be. For dinner we went to the Barrus' house where they made Teriyaki chicken. So good. I loved it! Like every Sunday we had a language call with a member who helped us with our Slovene pronunciation and we helped him with his English pronunciation. Afterwards I had a wonderful call with my family.
Memorable moments:
- I scared Sestra Williams a total of four times in the span of 24 hours - she has managed to only scare me once
- Sestra Williams and I did one of those clay masks that harden and make it so you cannot talk. So funny.
- I got cat called and my first immediate reaction was not to ignore it, but to smile and loudly say Hi (so dumb)
- My oldest brother, Kyler graduatated from BYU wooooooo!!!! I am so proud of him! :)
